01 / About Jesse
Hi, I'm Jesse
Owner of Nerds & Needles. I've been tattooing since 2018, turning people's ideas into pieces that belong to them. In 2020 I took first place at the East Flanders Tattoo Convention with one of my full colour tattoos.
Being a geek runs deep here. Marvel, Magic: The Gathering, LEGO — odds are we'll find something in common within a minute of talking.
I like variety in the work too. Big, colourful pieces down to small, refined fine line work: I'm at home in several styles, and I'd rather find the right design with you than hand you a template.
Got an idea you want to bring to life? Get in touch. I'm happy to think it through with you.

What I most like working on
Nerd and pop-culture work is the through-line, but not the whole of it. Anything except realism.
- Anime & manga
- Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Dragon Ball, Ghost in the Shell.
- Film & series
- The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Marvel, DC, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Crow, Disney and Pixar.
- Games & tabletop
- Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, Red Dead Redemption.
- Horror
- Terrifier, The Conjuring, The Exorcist, and a Halloween flash day every year.
- Japanese & neo-Japanese
- Hannya, oni, samurai, Buddha, Ganesha, mandala.
- Neo-traditional
- Potions, lanterns, roses, daggers, death moths — often drawn as my own flash.
Don't see your thing? Ask anyway. This is what I tattoo most often, not a menu.

05 / Frequently asked
Frequently asked
Are Inkies & Dinkies and Nerds & Needles the same shop?
Yes. Same artist, same address, new name.
Do you do piercings?
No. That isn't something we can offer at the moment.
How old do I have to be?
Belgian law sets the minimum at 18. In exceptional cases it can go down to 16, with a guardian present and their written consent.
Can I get tattooed while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Getting tattooed during pregnancy is strongly discouraged. Being tattooed has no effect on breastfeeding.
Can I talk an idea through with no obligation?
Of course. Any idea or project is welcome and consultations are free. You can always send examples or ideas over WhatsApp or Instagram.
How do I book?
Through Instagram or WhatsApp.
Can I move or cancel my appointment?
You can move or cancel free of charge up to 5 days before the date.
Can I bring someone with me?
An adult for support is always fine. We can't allow children in the shop.
What should I bring?
A tattoo can take a lot out of you, so bring a sugary drink and a snack. If you've booked a full-day session, bring lunch.
How can I pay?
Cash, bank transfer or Payconiq.
Do I pay a deposit?
There's a 50 euro deposit for every appointment, and 150 euro for very large work such as a full sleeve or a backpiece. It comes off the final price. Cancelling less than 5 days ahead, or not showing up, forfeits the deposit.
What does a tattoo cost?
Prices start at 100 euro, based on the size and complexity of the piece. You get an estimate before we start. For very large projects such as a sleeve or a backpiece I work at an hourly rate. Touch-ups within 3 months are always free.
06 / Aftercare
Aftercare
Congratulations on the new tattoo. Follow these instructions to make sure it heals well:
- Remove the film 2–4 hours after the tattoo is finished.
- Always wash your hands with a mild, antibacterial or unscented soap before touching the tattoo.
- Wash the tattoo gently with lukewarm water and a mild, pH-neutral soap. Don't use a washcloth.
- Pat the skin dry with a clean towel or kitchen paper. Don't rub.
- Apply a thin layer of Bepanthen or tattoo balm 2–3 times a day. Don't use a thick layer or Vaseline — it seals the skin.
- Scabs and flakes can form. Let them fall off on their own to avoid scarring and colour loss. DO NOT SCRATCH. The itching is part of healing.
- No swimming in chlorinated or sea water, no baths and no sauna for 2 to 4 weeks. Showering with lukewarm water is fine.
- Avoid strong sun and sunbeds for the first 3 to 4 weeks. After that, always use factor 50 to keep your tattoos protected.
- Contact your doctor or the studio if the skin stays extremely red, painful or swollen after 3 or 4 days, or if there are any signs of infection.
Any other questions, just get in touch.
